This policy explains how GOSI Calculator ("we", "the site"), at gosicalculator.com, handles information when you use the calculators, read the guides, create an account, or subscribe to our emails.
Last updated: 23 August 2026.
The short version
- The calculators keep nothing. Salary figures and dates you type into a calculator page are worked out in your browser and never sent to us.
- An account is different. If you create one for the dashboard, the details you save are stored on our server — encrypted — so they follow you between devices.
- We never ask for your iqama number, passport number or national ID. Only expiry dates.
- We collect anonymous page statistics, and we show advertising.
- You can export or permanently delete everything, at any time.
Using the calculators without an account
Every calculator on this site runs client-side in JavaScript. The numbers you enter are processed in your browser and are never transmitted to our server or stored by us. Close the page and that data is gone. Your language and light/dark preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them next time.
If you create an account
The dashboard is optional, and it does store data. When you sign up we hold:
- Your email address and a one-way hash of your password. We never store the password itself and cannot recover it.
- The employment details you choose to save — salary and allowances, joining date, contract dates, leave balance, and document expiry dates.
- Anything you add to the CV builder, including a profile photo if you upload one.
- Your preferences: language, theme and currency.
This information is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is stored outside the public web directory. Your email address is not stored in readable form anywhere outside that encrypted record.
We do not ask for document numbers. The site never requests your iqama number, passport number, national ID or bank details, and the server rejects them if a client tries to submit them. Expiry dates are all that any calculation needs.
Who can see your account data
Site administrators can view the details in a member's account through the admin panel. This is used for support and for maintaining the service. Every such view is written to an internal access log. Administrators cannot see your password, which is not stored in a readable form.
We do not sell, rent or share member data with third parties.
Anonymous statistics
We record aggregated page views so we can see which tools and articles are useful. This includes the page address and, where available, the referring website. A single cookie named gv, containing only the current date, stops the same browser being counted repeatedly in one day. It holds no personal identifier. We also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies.
Email subscriptions
If you submit your email address to the newsletter we store that address and the date you subscribed, so we can send occasional updates about Saudi labour law and new calculators. We do not sell or share it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from our records.
Server logs
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the time of each request. These logs are kept by the hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
- Preferences — your language and theme, in your browser's local storage.
- Sign-in — if you have an account, a session cookie keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly and cannot be read by scripts.
- Statistics — the single-day
gvcookie described above, plus Google Analytics. - Advertising — cookies set by our advertising partners.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators keep working without them; you will lose saved preferences and be signed out.
Advertising
This site is free and funded by advertising. We work with Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. We do not show advertising inside the dashboard.
Your choices
- Export — download everything in your account as a file, from Settings.
- Delete — remove your account and all its data permanently, from Settings. This cannot be undone.
- Unsubscribe — from the link in any newsletter email.
- Ask us — write to us via the contact page with any question about your data.
Children
This site is intended for working adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how information is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes affecting account holders will also be sent by email.
